Hello, wonderful people!
Beginning in a few hours is a youth camp in beautiful Prescott, AZ. I was asked to be the main speaker, and I wrote the outline for the teachings.
Our focus is Psalm 1 and The Mountaintop Experience. Please pray we speak well sharing God’s truth, that these teenagers encounter God in a meaningful and impact full way, and that it is an overall safe and fun weekend. (Of course, God’s will in all things above all!)
Thankfully, my wife gets to join me, so it is also a bit of a retreat for us!

We keep God’s Word, and this is best expressed in helping each other know Jesus better and live out His commands, love, and grace.

We keep God’s Word, and this is not only obedience to His commands but trusting in the promises He has made, knowing He has been faithful and will continue to be.

We obey the Word of God, and this includes trusting Him with all of our cares and worries, and we will see His comforting strength and power move in our lives as we seek Him.
Have mercy on those who doubt

We keep God’s Word, and this can be shown in being compassionate and merciful on those who doubt, including ourselves. In the Old Testament and in Jesus we see God being patient and working through doubts with people, and so should we.
God, create a clean heart for me and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

We keep God’s Word, which means relying on the Holy Spirit. Yet, even if we fail, He can cleanse us and renew us, franting rest from our burden, as turn to Him again.

We are on to Paul’s Letter to the Colossians in our series through the Pauline Prison Epistles. I had some concerns going into this message. The typical pastoral doubts that afflict most of us preachers are those concerns that sprang up. According to the congregation, there was nothing to be concerned about. May you enjoy the message, too. It is a brief overview of the book as well as the other Prison Epistles before a quick run-through of the first eight verses with application.
