God has called each of us, especially in the Church, to offer help to each other and hope through the Gospel.

We are given a ministry of reconciliation by our Lord Jesus who reconciled us to God by His blood, setting us aside as His own.

On our own, we seek our own glory and rightness.

Yet, when we confess our need for the Savior – the justice brought at the cross and the righteousness only given in Christ – we are changed to seeking God’s glory by His standard.

We see how Christ humbled Himself to free us from sin. We also humble ourselves to serve each other and help become more Christ-like.

We all have sinful pasts, so let us show grace and love, remembering where we come from and that God has done the same for us.

The Word should change us. The call of the Lord should push us.

May we proclaim the change that comes through Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit.

Jesus lived a sacrificial life of service. May we walk humbly with grace, even when others are hostile, to shine the light of Christ.

We show we are Christians when we regularly worship with other saints, we serve others out of love, and we strive to be more like Jesus.
