VerseD: Romans 16:5

Greet also the church in their house. Greet my beloved Epaenetus, who was the first convert to Christ in Asia.
Romans 16:5, ESV

Let us remember to encourage and love on those we cannot see often or at all, from new believers to those who have walked for decades.

VerseD: 1 John 1:7

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
1 John 1:7, ESV

We can be assured of our salvation as we encourage each other to walk in the light of the Word (both the Person of Jesus and Holy Scripture, by the Holy Spirit.)

VerseD: Romans 1:12

that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.
Romans 1:12, ESV

We all have moments of doubt, weakness, and misunderstandings, so let us encourage each other in faith by the Word of God and through action by the power of the Holy Spirit.

VerseD: Romans 16:16

Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you.
Romans 16:16, ESV

We are all in this struggle together. Let us encourage and lift up each other in Christ, regardless of denomination or theological differences.
We all need the Gospel and support.

VerseD: Romans 15:5

May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus
Romans 15:5, ESV

There is enough pain and division in this world, and an Enemy seeking our destruction. Let us love each other with the love of Christ, by His strength and power.

600 Straight Days of Well VerseD Thoughts

On May 1, 2018, I began writing daily mini-devotionals with a verse (or short passage) of the day, calling them VerseD.

Now, due to errors in the WordPress app loading a couple of days VerseD’s before I went on a 3-day river trip, WP thinks I missed a few days in my run.

Sad.

So, I will just go with what they tell me … at least for today!

So, for 600 straight days, the internet has been getting VerseD in my thoughts on Scripture.

Do you feel well VerseD in the Bible?

I invite you to do two things:

  1. Join me (or continue joining me) in your daily Scripture reading, and
  2. Let me know if you enjoy getting these daily mini-devos!
    1. Bonus: Any thoughts on adding to these, such as longer devotionals or video VerseD messages and what they could look like. IT IS ON YOU TO DECIDE! (Somewhat.)

It has been one of those blessed burdens to post these. I do not always feel like finding the strength, time, and energy to post these, but I am always blessed by my time in the Word. And a few brothers and sisters tend to come along and encourage me on those days it is the hardest to share or that I feel like I wasted my words.

Hopefully, on this Easter/Resurrection Sunday, you are blessed by my words and, more importantly, God’s Word.

In His Love,

Daniel

VerseD: Romans 15:4

For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
Romans 15:4, ESV

We must not “unhitch” (Marcionism) from the Old Testament. All of Scripture can teach and encourage us.

VerseD: Colossians 3:16

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Colossians 3:16, ESV

We read, memorize, and live out Scripture, because by it the Holy Spirit moves through us to lift each other up in Christ in wisdom and thankfulness and through conversations and singing God’s truth.

VerseD: Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!
Ecclesiastes 4:9‭-‬10, ESV

As God’s faithful, we are to help and encourage each other in all things, as He helps and encourages us, especially through Christ.

VerseD: Hebrews 10:24

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works
Hebrews 10:24, ESV

Love God, love people, love the Church.

How?

Grow in godliness as we spur and encourage each other – with Scripture, prayer, and sacrifice – to love on this fallen world.
