Therefore, God’s chosen ones, holy and loved, put on heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience
Colossians 3:12, HCSB
God is worthy of our praise and gratitude, and we show it by treating each other well in the same faithful manner Christ has treated us.
Listen! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and have dinner with him, and he with Me.
Revelation 3:20, HCSB
God deserves our praise and gratitude, which we can only give when we acknowledge Him as Lord and listen to His call. Then we will be able to rightly thank Him in worship.
Turn away from evil and do what is good; seek peace and pursue it.
Psalm 34:14, HCSB
God is worthy of praise and gratitude, because the further we get from Him the more violent and chaotic humanity becomes. Yet, He has made peace with and for us through Christ.
We have redemption in Him through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace.
Ephesians 1:7, HCSB
God deserves praise and gratitude for His faithfulness and redeeming us through Christ’s death and resurrection.
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever.
1 Chronicles 16:34, HCSB
God is worthy of our gratitude and praise if for no other reason than He has shown His faithfulness over all of history, ultimately through Christ.
Send Your light and Your truth; let them lead me.
Psalm 43:3-4, HCSB
Let them bring me to Your holy mountain,
to Your dwelling place.
Then I will come to the altar of God,
to God, my greatest joy.
I will praise You with the lyre,
God, my God.
It can feel like God is distant, yet He is always as close as a prayer, inhabits our praise, and promised to always be with His Church.
Why am I so depressed?
Psalm 42:11, HCSB
Why this turmoil within me?
Put your hope in God, for I will still praise Him,
my Savior and my God.
It can feel like God is distant when life is hard or evil seems to be winning, but our hope is in Christ who has promised to be with us always and is worthy of all praise.
The Lord is near the brokenhearted; He saves those crushed in spirit.
Psalm 34:18, HCSB
With faith in Christ alone are we declared righteous, and our realization and sadness over our sin is what drives us to our Savior who lifts us from sin and shame.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us.
Romans 8:18, HCSB
With faith in Christ alone are we declared righteous, and the world will try to suppress God’s righteousness. Yet, we have the blessed hope that Christ is making all things new and will make the struggles now appear insignificant, like the pain of childbirth and holding the newborn.
