VerseD: Hebrews 5:7

During his earthly life, he offered prayers and appeals with loud cries and tears to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.

Hebrews 5:7, CSB

So much in this world is scary and sad, but Christ has lived among us, showing that God understands our fears and sadness, so we know that we can call on Him in our time of need and that He listens.

VerseD: Mark 4:9

Then he said, “Let anyone who has ears to hear listen.”

Mark 4:9, CSB

God should be our source of hope, joy, and peace. Listening to and reading the words of Christ will reveal His will by His Holy Spirit to find the joy and peace that comes from understanding Him better.

VerseD: 2 Timothy 2:15

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15, ESV

All people are called to be priests of God for the families, neighbors, friends, and communities. We need to know what His Word says and how to apply it for His glory and to reach others.

VerseD: Luke 2:7

And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

Luke 2:7, ESV

God showed His love by sending Jesus to become human like us, and He knew need and loss like the rest of us. We have a God who understands what wr go through, because of His love.

VerseD: Jude 1:20-21

But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.

Jude 1:20-21, NLT‬

People may know we are Christians, they may not understand why we believe these ancient texts about some guy who lived 2,000 years ago. May we see the truth found in the Bible about Jesus, knowing with certainty it is true.

VerseD: Psalm 34:18

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

Psalm 34:18, ESV

VerseD: Jeremiah 17:9

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?
Jeremiah 17:9, ESV

If we “look deep within” ourselves to find happiness, we will only be disappointed. Maybe this life will turn out better from “following our hearts,” but ultimately it usually leads us away from Christ and eternal life.
We should expect those outside of Christ to act unwisely and foolishly, but we should be sober-minded and seek His wisdom.

Video Lesson: Infinite to Infinitesimal Gospel

We should know the big picture.

It is extremely helpful to know the littlest parts: how things work and what needs to be understood.

How would you define infinity? What is it?

What is the opposite of infinity? Do you know?
(Hint: It is not negative infinity!)
[In other words, what is the limit of what we should know?]

What does the Bible say?

  1. Matthew 22:36-40
    1. L                               God.
    2. L                               people.
      1. The first 3.5 C are based on the first.
      2. The second 6.5 C are based on the second.
  2. 1 Corinthians 2:1-2
    1. The best way to love God is admit J is God who loved us enough to become a h and die for our sins.
    2. The best way to love people is tell them that God became a human to die for our sins!

There is obviously more detail on how we love God and others, but that is for another lesson!

So, love God and others by reading your Bible to know Him better and to share the full Gospel with everyone!

VerseD: John 14:26

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
John 14:26, ESV

Jesus was not saying we do not need to read the Bible. Rather, the Holy Spirit will help us understand and remember what the Bible says, and He will encourage us through His Church.
