And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”

This world has rejected God, but as the Father sent the Son to save the world, they send the Holy Spirit to send us to proclaim that message of His coming.

VerseD: Psalm 144:3-4

O Lord, what is man that you regard him, or the son of man that you think of him? Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.

Psalm 144:3‭-‬4, ESV

Looking at our world, it’s easy to see humans are relatively insignificant and horrible to each other. Therefore, we gather together in Christ to remind each other that the Creator loves us, saves us, and lifts us up by His Spirit.

VerseD: Acts 20:24

But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

God came as one of us to show what His love, grace, and faithfulness looks like – even to death on a cross for the forgiveness of sins.

Let us live faithfully in Christ’s faithfulness, following His example, to a fallen world.

VerseD: Psalm 34:18

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

Our God became one of us to show His love and grace is not some abstract, distant sentimentality, but He has experienced the best and worst of humanity.

By His Spirit, He now dwells in us to encourage, strengthen, and save us in and from our sinful, difficult life.

VerseD: Romans 10:9

because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Our God came to us to give us His love, grace, and forgiveness. If we truly believe this and confess Jesus’ death and resurrection, we are granted this salvation from God’s wrath against our sin.

VerseD: Romans 12:1

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

To find eternal life, we must change our way of thinking, believe in Jesus Christ as our God who saves us, and give our lives to Him. There is no other way.

Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.

Beyond the things of this life, our own sin can cause us worry and fear (anxiety). Thankfully, God sent Jesus to save us from our sin and the Holy Spirit to give us hope for eternal peace.

VerseD: Isaiah 43:2

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.

Isaiah 43:2, ESV

God literally did these things for His People throughout history, yet, through the Holy Spirit, we know that God’s Son has saved us from the fires of damnation and chaotic sea of humanity. When this life seems un-navigable, He grants us peace and grace.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

John 3:17, ESV

On our own, we stand condemned. Jesus came to offer redemption from condemnation and hope for salvation and eternal life, if we are humble enough to accept it.

VerseD: Romans 10:13

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Romans 10:13, ESV

We cannot be saved nor continue faithfully in sanctification if we are not focused on the life, death, resurrection, and sovereignty of Christ.
