Prayer for Youth Camp!

Our Youth Next Door is headed to Mixed JH/HS camp this week! It is our first “modern traditional camp”, with cabins and bunks and fun and other churches.

Please join me in praying for safety, lots of fun, and – most importantly – getting to know Jesus and to love God better.

We have a fantastic group of teens (and pre-teens!), so I expect God to do great things!

Daniel

VerseD: Malachi 4:6

“And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the land with a decree of utter destruction.”

Malachi 4:6, ESV

It can seem the world is getting worse all the time.

Yet, God has called us to show His mercy by praying that He will draw fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, whole families together and to Him.

Pray God’s mercy and grace on our world and our hearts and minds.

VerseD: Acts 4:31

And when they had prayed earnestly, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with confidence.

Acts 4:31, LSB

Our God calls us to Himself, and He sent the Holy Spirit to empower and embolden us to share the gospel of Christ.

VerseD: Ephesians 6:18

praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints

Ephesians 6:18, ESV

In Christ, we are united with all other believers by the Holy Spirit, so ket us pray for each other regularly, especially those under persecution and oppression.

VerseD: Proverbs 4:23

Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.

Proverbs 4:23, ESV

Our hearts are full of lies and easily deceived, so let us continually draw near to God through Bible reading, prayer, and meeting with His Church.

VerseD: Psalm 56:3

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

Psalm 56:3, ESV

Many things in this life can frighten and intimidate us, but we can turn to our sovereign, omnipotent, loving God who redeems us and comforts us.

VerseD: Colossians 4:2

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.

Colossians 4:2, ESV

It is easier to be distracted with entertainment and pleasures, but we are called to sacrifice our wants and desires, crucifying them in Christ, and lifting each other up in prayer, seeking God in prayer, and growing in thankfulness … through regular, sacrificial prayer.

VerseD: Matthew 7:24

“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”

Matthew 7:24, ESV

We can try to live our own truth, live but the world’s wisdom, or try to please God on our own.

Or we can listen to and obey Jesus.

Pray to hear Jesus and for the strength and wisdom to obey.

VerseD: John 1:14

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 1:14, ESV

Many will try to tell us there are many ways to truth or to find our own truth, but Jesus has told us He is the embodiment and source of truth.

Pray that His grace and truth can flow through your life.

VerseD: Psalm 3:3

But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.

Psalm 3:3, ESV

There are many things in this world that can harm us, whether persecution, illness, tragedy, or worries.

Let us pray to God who can save our souls and encourage our hearts and minds.
