The opposite of love is fear, and God became one of us to restore the relationship between humanity and God. We know we are His friends when we not only believe in Christ but trust that He will fulfill His promises in this life and for the next, being able to not fear but face all this lofe has.

Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.

Humanity tends toward evil, separating family and friends, but God came to us and conquered the evils of death, suffering, and separation through the cross. When we believe in Christ, He calls us His friends and empowers us to overcome evil, too.

Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us

We are called in Christ to help each other be more like Christ, so we look to the historic Church and the Church today to guide us in getting past sin amd find encouragement.

But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.

God told the Prophets that He was coming, and He came born as the person of Jesus of Nazareth who then promised to send the Holy Spirit. After defeating the power of sin, He now empowers us to fight sin and evil by dwelling inside us until His return.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.

The gospel is overcoming fear, hatred, and sin in the power of Christ’s blood and of the Holy Spirit through repentance, faith, grace, and love.

So much in this world can be scary and sad, but Christ moves in us to help us overcome this world and find joy and hope.

No temptation has come upon you except what is common to humanity. But God is faithful; he will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to bear it.

God cares for us and provides for us. Even in our sinfulness, He still wants to help us in overcoming temptation and sin by the power of Christ and the Holy Spirit within us.

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

God has prepared a rest for us through Christ, and because of His life, death, and resurrection, we know we can approach God without fear and with hope for that rest from the pains and temptations of this life.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.

God has prepared a rest for us through Christ, the one who understands our life and all the problems and temptations we face yet overcame them, even death. Faith in His life, death, and resurrection brings us hope for resurrection and rest from the problems and temptations.
