VerseD: John 8:32

“. . . and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
John 8:32, ESV

Jesus is the truth. True freedom is knowing, believing in, and trusting Him.

Ultimately, freedom is from sin and fully realized in eternity.

VerseD: Psalm 18:2

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Our Rock is Christ, our solid foundation that holds steady when life gets shaky and hard. He sustains and lifts us through it all.

VerseD: Psalm 18:30

This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.

Live out God’s Word, and your soul shall find refuge.

VerseD: Ecclesiastes 3:11

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.

Our trust is in the Holy One, God, and the work of the cross. Without these, there is no long term hope.

VerseD: Roman’s 12:12

Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

  • We take EVERYTHING to our Father in Heaven.

VerseD: Hebrews 10:35

Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.
Hebrews 10:35, ESV

To slightly misquote the hymn, our confidence is found in nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.

We have assurance of faith, salvation, and God’s strength as we spur each other on and remind each other regularly of Christ’s faithfulness.

VerseD: Psalm 27:1

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalm 27:1, ESV

When Paul wrote his epistles (letters), he was drawing on God’s Word (our Old Testament).

In Christ, we no longer fear death, punishment for sin, nor anything this world may do to us, for He has overcome.

VerseD: Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

May you turn to God today and every day.

VerseD: Psalm 55:22

Cast your burden on the Lord , and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.
Psalms 55:22, ESV

While we should not only turn to God in times of distress, do not forget how much he wants to help! His wisdom, peace, and strength will get you through.
