I am deeply depressed;

therefore I remember You from the land of Jordan
and the peaks of Hermon, from Mount Mizar.
God should be our greatest desire, and when life gets in the way we should cry out to God from the places of safety, like Church, and in the midst of trials, just like David did when running from his son who tried to steal the throne.
Why am I so depressed?
Psalm 42:5, HCSB
Why this turmoil within me?
Put your hope in God, for I will still praise Him,
my Savior and my God.
God should be our greatest desire, and sometimes we focus on something else or He is calling us to think of others with His love and will by allowing sadness, depression, and anxiety. Prayer and praise to our Savior will restore our desire.
I remember this as I pour out my heart:

how I walked with many,
leading the festive procession to the house of God,
with joyful and thankful shouts.
God should be our greatest desire, and our time with His Church should be the reminder of His faithfulness and reason to celebrate His coming to us, pushing us to love Him even more.
My tears have been my food day and night,
Psalm 42:3, HCSB
while all day long people say to me,
“Where is your God?”
God should be our greatest desire, and this is a help when times are hard and people reject the gospel and mock us. We trust His faithfulness and await His return.
I thirst for God, the living God.

When can I come and appear before God?
God should be our greatest desire, and coming into His presence through reading the Bible, prayer, and being with the Church are the start. Our hope is eternity through Christ.
As a deer longs for streams of water,

so I long for You, God.
God should be our greatest desire, our help in our greatest need and our continual joy in all of life.
The pure in heart are blessed, for they will see God.

In a world of pain, violence, and oppression, those who seek the goodness and justice of God combat these things with His love and grace shown through the cross and delivered by the Holy Spirit.
If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Faith in Christ necessarily means we share the faith, confessing and preaching in the power of the Holy Spirit the gospel to others that they may believe and be saved by grace through faith.
So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.

When we put our faith in Christ and His work on the cross, we are saved from God’s wrath on our sin and given hope of eternal life with Him. Our faith did not earn it. Sharing the gospel does not earn it. God saves, amd we believe it.
For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

When we put our faith in Christ and His work on the cross, professing that faith to the world in the power of the Holy Spirit, we know we are saved from God’s wrath and join Him in eternal life.
