VerseD: Proverbs 18:10

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.

Just the name of God is enough to guard and save us. Call on God to redeem and comfort your soul, and trust Him with every part of your day and life, thanking Him for His grace and strength.

VerseD: Deuteronomy 6:5

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

Deuteronomy 6:5, ESV

Trust God. He loves you, so show your love for Him by obeying Him with your emotions, your thoughts, and your actions, even when it’s difficult or counter-cultural.

VerseD: Ephesians 6:2-3

“Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.”

Trust God. He is our heavenly Father, and He calls us to love and honor our own parents. Trust His promise to bless us if we forgive and love parents.

But I will sing of your strength; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning. For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress.

We are saved in Christ alone, for only He is strong enough, good enough, and faithfulness enough to save. Let us believe and praise Him.

The cost of following Jesus is getting over ourselves, admitting we don’t have all the answers, and devoting ourselves to God’s Word. Then, we respond to attacks on the faith with Scripture, and stop arguments with the Word of God.

The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

The cost of following Jesus is denying ourselves and choosing God over all things. Our biggest concern should be seeking God.

Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.

God is our source of life and love, and this should inspire us to help others. We realize we were poor in spirit and so are they, and especially those who are physically poor. Our reward is eternal life with Christ.

do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

God is our strength and power, and He grants these and anything else we need as we seek Him and ask, granting us more than we think to ask for.

VerseD: Luke 16:10

“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.”

Luke 16:10, ESV

God is faithful and true, our source of strength and help. He can help us to be faithful in anything if we turn to Him and are clothed in Christ.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:1, ESV

God has shown His faithfulness and goodness through the most extreme and miraculous means possible: He stepped out of eternity and became one of us.
