VerseD: 2 Corinthians 12:9

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9, ESV

Do not try to do it all. Do not worry about your weaknesses and faults. Do not believe God will heal everything in this life.

God likes shaming the “wisdom” of this world for His glory through our failings. He likes showing His power through us.

VerseD: Proverbs 13:20

Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.
Proverbs 13:20, ESV

Wanting to learn and become wise leads to wisdom. Even of you only have foolish friends while trying to be wise, you will suffer for their decisions. If you purposely choose foolish friends, you brought it on yourself.

Choose Christ and His Church.

VerseD: 1 John 3:16

By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
1 John 3:16, ESV

Our highest calling in life is to build the Church to the glory of God, and that can mean sacrificing everything for the Church.

VerseD: Matthew 6:19

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal”
Matthew 6:19, ESV

It is okay to have money and possessions, but our main focus and desire should be for heavenly things: the Lord’s righteousness, God’s glory, souls won through the Gospel.

VerseD: 3 John 1:2

Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.
3 John 1:2, ESV

This is no prosperity gospel teaching. It is a prayer that as we pursue Christ we remain or get healthy, but not a guarantee. That only comes at the resurrection.

VerseD: 1 John 4:15

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
1 John 4:15, ESV

You cannot be a Christian and deny the divinity and humanity of Jesus Christ, that He was sent by the Father to save us.

VerseD: James 1:13

Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one.
James 1:13, ESV

God cannot be bargained with, nor does He tempt us. He may allow us to be tested, and He may let us tell, scream, complain, and plead.

He has a plan, is in control, and waits for us to call on Him for help and wisdom.

VerseD: Galatians 1:10

For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
Galatians 1:10, ESV

May we always seek to please God above others. Some may be offended, but some may turn and repent to glorify God.

VerseD: 1 John 4:18

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
1 John 4:18, ESV

We should come to Christ because of the fear of our sin falling under God’s wrath. Yet, that fear is washed away with our sin by the blood of Jesus!

VerseD: Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1, ESV

Faith is not blind trust. Faith is based on trust in what we have come to know guiding our beliefs.

Because Christ is risen, we have faith in eternal life and His imminent return.
