For the word of God is living and effective  and sharper than any double-edged sword,  penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

The gospel is God changing our hearts from the inside out by the blood of Christ, because He knows us better than we know ourselves from the inside out and reveals that through His Word.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.”

We find hope and faith in knowing we are hopeless on our own, in trying to succeed in life or toward eternal life, but that God has saved us by His grace in Christ.

Trust God. He loves you, so show your love for Him by obeying Him with your emotions, your thoughts, and your actions, even when it’s difficult or counter-cultural.

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

God is changing this world for His glory, and He starts with those who need the most help, who are painfully aware of their need for a Savior. We all need Him.

For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.

When we are wrapped up in ourselves or the troubles of this world, we are easily made anxious. When we are focused on our sovereign God and His goodness and awesomeness, we can have peace knowing He has overcome the world and death.

VerseD: Ephesians 6:12

For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.

Because Christ lives, we can face the powers of darkness and evil with boldness, knowing our Savior reigns and fights for us.

VerseD: John 12:8

‭”For you always have the poor with you, but you do not always have Me.”

We worship Christ by helping the poor in spirit, the poor in possessions, and the poor in hope and stability, knowing He is the hope of the world who denied Himself for our sake.

We must do the difficult thing of admitting we are wretched sinners to a holy God then we will find ourselves lamenting our condition. This is when we are free to receive God’s grace and forgiveness in Christ and find the full eternal freedom He offers.

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,” said Jesus. He satisfies us spiritually foremost, yet He meets all our needs.

We fear what others may say or do to us, but God’s Word can cut much deeper and reveal more about us than anything or anyone in this world. But He also can heal and restore us better than any other.
