How can we keep on sinning when we know Christ took our sin upon Himself? May we grow in sinning less by loving Him and each other more.

Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.

Only God is able to save us from our own sin, giving us peace and goodness. Seek Him in every part of your life.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Our God has come to us. He became a weak baby to demonstrate His omnipotence over death and sin as well as life. Trust in and worship Him.

Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!

God became one of us to redeem us from sin and separation. Let us gather together in joy to thankfully sing His praises.

VerseD: Isaiah 40:31

but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

God may not heal or illnesses and pains in this life, but He will heal our souls and rejuvenate our spirits when we put our faith in Christ. We will be empowered to run the race of faith in strength and grace.

so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

God does all things well, and through His Word – Jesus – He cleans up our sinful souls and makes our lives something beautiful. Trust in Him, and let the Holy Spirit cleanse you.

VerseD: Hebrews 12:11

For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

We don’t like to think we deserve to endure pain nor discipline, but our sin does lead to it. And God uses the events in our life to discipline us (grow and mature us) in Christ as His adopted sons (and daughters).

O Lord, what is man that you regard him, or the son of man that you think of him? Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.

Looking at our world, it’s easy to see humans are relatively insignificant and horrible to each other. Therefore, we gather together in Christ to remind each other that the Creator loves us, saves us, and lifts us up by His Spirit.

VerseD: Matthew 5:4

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”

Matthew 5:4, ESV

As the saying goes, it’s okay to not be okay. In fact, we must realize our sinfulness and that we have wounded God. Not just wounded, but our sins held Jesus to the cross until He died.

When we mourn our sin and its destructive, killing power and offense to God, then we can find comfort and forgiveness in the resurrected Savior.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 5:3, ESV

We must do the difficult thing of admitting we are wretched sinners to a holy God then we will find ourselves lamenting our condition. This is when we are free to receive God’s grace and forgiveness in Christ and find the full eternal freedom He offers.
