The message has not changed, and we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to be Christ’s witnesses to the world, proclaiming His death, resurrection, ascension, and imminent return.

VerseD: Micah 6:8

Mankind, he has told each of you what is good  and what it is the Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God.

Micah re-worded the two greatest commandments of loving God and loving others. The message has not changed, only that God became human in the person of Jesus to show us what it means.

And be kind and compassionate  to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.

A life of holiness relies on Christ in all things, and He helps us to forgive and be kind and compassionate when others aren’t toward us, just like He did with us.

Therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and dearly loved, put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience

God cares for us and provides for us. By His Spirit, He helps us care for each other, as well. Love God and His Church.

Kindness to the poor is a loan to the Lord, and he will give a reward to the lender.

Peace comes from following God and doing what He has called us to. As we spread His peace to others – both the poor in spirit and the financially poor – we grow in peace knowing we are investing in God’s Kingdom.

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience

Let us be patiently kind to each other with the kindness of Christ, compassionate with each other in the humility of knowing we each struggle in some areas, knowing we need help to get through.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

The cost of following Christ is dying to self everyday, but the rewards are eternal life and the Spirit guiding and moving through us in amazing ways that bless others as well.

Our sovereign God has shown us the path of peace: to love God through acknowledging His goodness and our need for Him and by living rightly with others in kindness, love, and justice.

We must realize our shared state, as revealed by observation and within the pages of Scripture: we are all horrible sinners, and God alone is good.

May we love each other with the same love and kindness Christ showed us.

“But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.”

We say we want to be kind to others, but it is by studying and sharing God’s Word, which reveals the kindness of God toward us in Jesus, that we know what true kindness is.
