We watch our lives, knowing many will find any reason to reject the gospel. We humbly admit our failures and accept the help of the Holy Spirit to empower us to live holy lives.

So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.

God is in us by the Holy Spirit, empowering us to love and serve like Jesus did: sacrificially and humbly, with a boldness from God.

VerseD: Hebrews 6:10

For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do.

We are called to go beyond the initial teachings of the gospel and to go on loving others with more of God’s grace and love, serving the Church humbly and the world in truth.

So also Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”

Jesus Christ became a human and made Himself a servant, and being a servant to the point of death and His ensuing resurrection has proven that He is the very Son of God who understands us and draws us to the Father.

‭He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Our sovereign God has shown us the path of peace: to love God through acknowledging His goodness and our need for Him and by living rightly with others in kindness, love, and justice.

People may know we are Christians, but they may not understand repentance and grace. May we demonstrate the humility of penitence, seeking forgiveness from God and showing grace to others.

“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”

When we can admit that we can’t get through this life in our own power, that only in Christ can we fully thrive, then we find that we can be co-heirs with Him, living eternally on a restored Earth in glorified bodies like His, worshipping and truly living.

The reward for humility and fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life.

It takes humility to admit we’re wrong and need help. Until we can do that, we’re under God’s wrath. When we admit our need for God, He honors us with forgiveness, life, and the glory offered through His Son.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you

We were made by God, and He has made us to glorify Him and make His love, grace, goodness known. Let us joyfully submit to this call to follow His Son.

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.

The God of the universe and our Creator who deserves all worship took on human flesh to die the death we deserve for the evil we have committed.

May we be willing to demean and suffer for the sake of others as our Lord did, leading others to find Him.
