This Sunday at Church: Pray for the unity of your church pastors

Unity amongst our leadership became a major priority in 2023, which we called “the year of the attack on unity” for our congregation. 2024 was not better, but we have become more close-knit as leaders and even amongst the congregation as a whole.

Pray hard and often for the unity of pastors and elders.

Above all, maintain constant love for one another, since love covers a multitude of sins.

VerseD: Romans 15:5

May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus

Romans 15:5, ESV

Just the name of God can save us, and in Christ even our relationships are redeemed. Let us be thankful for the encouragement and love of the Church in Christ.

VerseD: Psalm 68:19

Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. Selah

Psalm 68:19, ESV

God moves in and with us, guiding us and strengthening us, and the primary way He does this is by the Holy Spirit through His Church. Trust Him and be with His people.

VerseD: 2 Corinthians 12:10

For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Corinthians 12:10, ESV

Christ moves in us no matter the circumstances, using our weaknesses and strengths for His glory and for the Chirch. He also helps us through the Church, other broken and weak people to help each other.

VerseD: Colossians 3:12

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience

Colossians 3:12, ESV

Let us be patiently kind to each other with the kindness of Christ, compassionate with each other in the humility of knowing we each struggle in some areas, knowing we need help to get through.

VerseD: Philippians 2:3

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.

Philippians 2:3, ESV

We are called to unity in Christ, and it starts with looking out for each other’s needs before our own, just as Christ put our need for salvation over His own rights as God.

VerseD: Romans 8:1

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus

Romans 8:1, CSB

We are called to unity in Christ, forgiving each other and knowing we are forgiven in Christ. We help each other get past our sins, knowing God has removed all guilt and shame.

VerseD: John 14:49

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

John 14:27, ESV

We are called to unity in Christ, and that unity of the Church can be a source of encouragement and peace in a rebellious and crazy world, sharing the peace of Christ with each other.
