VerseD: James 5:16

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
James 5:16, ESV

Sometimes we need to see or hear someone responding to our confession.
Sometimes we need to know we are being held accountable.
All the time we need to obey God’s commands.
Then we heal.

VerseD: 1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
1 Corinthians 10:13, ESV

Temptations come. They are not the sin. Giving in is the sin.
Ask God for help, because He wants to help.

VerseD: 1 John 2:15-16

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.
1 John 2:15‭-‬16 ESV

Love the people of ther world through word and action.

Reject the sinful desires of the world (things, wealth, sex, violence, death), instead pursuing God and His righteousness.

VerseD: Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12, ESV

God’s Word reveals our every and deepest sins and intentions, but it also reveals God’s endless love and grace for those who call on Christ’s name.

VerseD: Psalm 119:105

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Psalm 119:105, ESV

Our world, our lives, our walk with God all makes sense through Scripture, the Word of God. Only by it do we see the answer to evil, sin, and the need for a Savior.

And Who that Savior is.

VerseD: Matthew 1:21

“She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
Matthew 1:21, ESV

Joseph and Mary were willing servants of God to bring the Savior into the world.

Likewise, we carry Christ to this world to show the world their need for the One who has removed their sins by His sacrifice.

VerseD: 1 Corinthians 15:57

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:57, ESV

We have victory over death and sin because our God came and overcame these in our place, for our benefit, and for His glory!

VerseD: Luke 12:3

Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops.
Luke 12:3, ESV

We may think we can get away with private sins and things nobody was around to see, hear, or know.

But God sees and knows all, and we will stand before Him one day.

VerseD: Romans 6:14

For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
Romans 6:14, ESV

This may be one of the hardest things for us to learn and know: that our sin only has as much control as we let it have over us. God’s grace, imparted through Christ’s atonement and by the Holy Spirit, frees us from sin’s power.

VerseD: James 4:17

So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
James 4:17, ESV

Are you loving your neighbor?

Do you simply pass by the person in need or simply respond “I’ll pray for you” instead of helping when able?

Jesus was inconvenienced by the cross. We can at least change a tire, listen to a sad story, and be a little late sometimes.

To not may be sin.
