Humble, sacrificial service out of love for God and others is the expectation for those who carry the name of Jesus. Thinking we have it all figured out or are the only ones who can do things, or even those who don’t try, is wrong. We do all things for and through Christ.

Christ is our example of love, and He demonstrated this by sacrificially serving others, even and especially those who don’t deserve it.

Christ is our example of love, even caring for those who hate Him or simply ignore Him as well as those who love Him. Let us love each other and the spiritually, emotionally, and physically weak around us.

So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.

We are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, so we are called to serve the world in the same sacrificial manner, yet we also are called to eternal life and joy in Him.

“And the King will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”

We are called to be the hands of feet of Jesus, serving Him by helping those in the most need, ultimately through the gospel but also down through basic needs.

We are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing His Kingdom to this world through kind service in His name to others, ushering His return as we serve Him.

God is in us by the Holy Spirit, empowering us to love and serve like Jesus did: sacrificially and humbly, with a boldness from God.

So he got up from supper, laid aside his outer clothing, took a towel, and tied it around himself. Next, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet and to dry them with the towel tied around him.

Christ has freed us, including from focusing on ourselves so that we can love others better, to love like Jesus loves us.
