Peace comes from following God and doing what He has called us to. We can bring peace to others by doing the good work of sharing the gospel.

No matter what life brings, God is in control. It is best to trust Him and live by His leading as found in the Bible, by the Holy Spirit, and with help from the Church.

VerseD: 1 Chronicles 29:11

Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the splendor and the majesty, for everything in the heavens and on earth belongs to you. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom, and you are exalted as head over all.

We are called to rest, and we follow the example of our Creator. Do we truly believe He is worthy of all honor and glory? Let us glorify Him by obeying Him and even resting, finding ultimate rest for our souls through Christ.

VerseD: Romans 12:1

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

God has said He will be with us, and we invite this relationship when we repent of our sins and love as He has called us. Wonderfully, He is in us helping us along the way.

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.

We are saved in Christ alone, and we must confess this truth to be saved. We will also live in such a way as to show we belong to Him.

God showed His faithfulness and goodness by redeeming Israel and showing His nature through His commands. He has shown us His love and expectations, and He proved them through Christ. Now He empowers us to love, rejoice, and obey while sharing this gospel with the world.

VerseD: Hebrews 7:21-22

but this one was made a priest with an oath by the one who said to him: “The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind, ‘You are a priest forever.’” This makes Jesus the guarantor of a better covenant.

God called us to perfect obedience, but only God is able to make us perfect after our sin. The Old Covenant was based on obeying God’s Law, but the New Covenant is based on Christ’s obedience and love.

Believe in our High Priest who sacrificed Himself for us.

VerseD: Hebrews 7:18-19

For on the one hand, a former commandment is set aside because of its weakness and uselessness (for the law made nothing perfect); but on the other hand, a better hope is introduced, through which we draw near to God.

God’s Law shows us how sinful we are. God Himself came to us as a human, perfectly obeyed the Law, and then took our place of punishment and became our High Priest. When we believe in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, we are able to draw near to the One who first drew near to us.

This becomes even more evident when another priest arises in the likeness of Melchizedek, who has become a priest, not on the basis of a legal requirement concerning bodily descent, but by the power of an indestructible life.

We were called to legal and moral perfection, but only God is perfect. Christ is our High Priest who paid for our failings a d proved He is God through His resurrection.

Believe and be clothed in His righteousness.

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

God established His Law to show the impossible expectation of human perfection, that we live in perfect obedience. Then He came to us as Christ, and now we only need believe in His life, death, and resurrection to receive the perfection of Jesus our High Priest.
