VerseD: John 3:36

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
John 3:36, ESV

The hard truth is that full belief in Jesus means obedience to Jesus. It is not strictly about rules but knowing how He has said to love Him.

VerseD: Psalm 59:16

But I will sing of your strength; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning. For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress.
Psalm 59:16, ESV

Do you praise God daily for what He has done, is doing, and will do? Do you have a song on your lips every morning praising God’s holy name?

Do it. He is worthy (and it makes your day at least a little better.)

VerseD: Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Romans 15:13, ESV

Our faith is not blind but is also a gift from God. Ask Him to grant you the joy and peace that comes from the hope we have in Christ.

VerseD: Proverbs 18:10

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.
Proverbs 18:10, ESV

We do not need to defend God. His Word is enough. Trust in the name of Jesus.

(But also be ready to give an answer to those who question! 1 Peter 3:15)

VerseD: Psalm 127:1

Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
Psalm 127:1, ESV

In other words, entrust your plans to God, and realize He is in control. Rest in His strength and wisdom.

VerseD: Psalm 56:3

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
Psalm 56:3, ESV

There is only One in whom we can trust fully in the pains and fears of life: Our Creator, Sustainer, and Savior. The Lord God.

VerseD: Zephaniah 3:17

The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.
Zephaniah 3:17, ESV

Our Savior God calms our tormented souls and complaining hearts through His sacrificial love, and He teaches us to sing with Joy and by His Holy Spirit.

VerseD: 1 Peter 2:16

Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.
1 Peter 2:16 ESV

Freedom is the ability to choose. We are free to choose sin (from which we have been freed), but why would we want to use our freedom to slap God in the face rather than love Him?

VerseD: Matthew 7:13-14

“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”
Matthew 7:13‭-‬14, ESV

We should not be surprised that “the world is going to hell in a handbasket,” for we have been warned by Jesus. It does not mean we should like it.

We should strive to make sure we are on the narrow path and bringing as many along for the ride as we can.

VerseD: Proverbs 27:17

Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.
Proverbs 27:17, ESV

As said in Hebrews, do not give up meeting together with fellow believers. We keep each other on track, in truth, and in the hope of Christ.
