VerseD: Philippians 1:9-10

And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ
Philippians 1:9‭-‬10, ESV

Our love for God should grow, leading to a love for His unadulterated Word and for people to know and live according to that love and Word.

VerseD: Numbers 18:21-22

“To the Levites I have given every tithe in Israel for an inheritance, in return for their service that they do, their service in the tent of meeting, so that the people of Israel do not come near the tent of meeting, lest they bear sin and die.”
Numbers 18:21‭-‬22, ESV

God not only provides for His faithful people, He expects trained leaders to protect and guide His people in all truth and faithfulness.
(So, yes, their should be paid pastors and staff who are faithful to God’s Word.)

VerseD: Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12, ESV

Scripture – the words given by the Holy Spirit – and Jesus. Both are the Word of God, capable of cutting through our lies, deceptions, imaginings, and masks to reveal our sinful desires yet also offer hope for forgiveness and eternal life.

VerseD: Galatians 6:9

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:9, ESV

We live in a world that promotes selfishness and retribution, denying the truth of God’s Word. May we live as Christ: sacrificially loving others and doing what God has called us to do.

VerseD: John 1:14

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14, ESV

Regardless of what skeptics may say,  God has revealed Himself to us, through Scripture and by coming to live as one of us to bring truth and grace.

VerseD: Matthew 4:4

But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
Matthew 4:4, ESV

Without the Word of God (both Scripture and Jesus), our life is ultimately meaningless, and loving out His commands fulfills us in ways we may never fully understand.

VerseD: Romans 10:17

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Romans 10:17, ESV

We learn of Christ through His Word, the Bible, and those who have believed the Eternal Word must share it and Him with others.

VerseD: John 8:31-32

So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
John 8:31‭-‬32, ESV

How can others know the truth if we do not tell them?
Let us show the world the Word and Truth of God that they may be freed from sin.

VerseD: 1 John 1:7

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
1 John 1:7, ESV

We can be assured of our salvation as we encourage each other to walk in the light of the Word (both the Person of Jesus and Holy Scripture, by the Holy Spirit.)

VerseD: 2 Timothy 2:15

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15, ESV

Do you know your Bible well enough to explain the Gospel, salvation, or why you believe what you believe?
Ignoring the Bible (or barely reading/studying it) is ignoring God.
Works apart from God’s Word is working in an unapproved manner. We love God through His Word and in deeds.
