We are called to be priests under our High Priest, and by the power of the Holy Spirit He transforms our thinking and actions to be more like Christ.

VerseD: Isaiah 11:1

There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit.

We find joy in Christ, the one who was promised to King David and to bring us into relationship with God, our Creator and Savior.

“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will fulfill the promise I made to the house of Israel and the house of Judah.”

God has given us peace through Christ by revealing His love through the cross, and we can have peace knowing He is faithful to keep His promises. Trust in our faithful God.

A voice cries: “In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

God has given us peace through Christ by revealing His love through the cross, and it was proof of the prophecies from hundreds of years earlier, even of John the Baptist, showing God’s faithfulness. Our peace comes in knowing His sovereignty and omniscience.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

Trust God. He loves you, so show your love for Him by obeying Him with your emotions, your thoughts, and your actions, even when it’s difficult or counter-cultural.

“Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.”

Trust God. He is our heavenly Father, and He calls us to love and honor our own parents. Trust His promise to bless us if we forgive and love parents.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

The cost of following Christ is dying to self everyday, but the rewards are eternal life and the Spirit guiding and moving through us in amazing ways that bless others as well.

Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.

God is our source of life and love, and this should inspire us to help others. We realize we were poor in spirit and so are they, and especially those who are physically poor. Our reward is eternal life with Christ.

God is our strength and power, and He grants these and anything else we need as we seek Him and ask, granting us more than we think to ask for.

VerseD: Luke 16:10

“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.”

Luke 16:10, ESV

God is faithful and true, our source of strength and help. He can help us to be faithful in anything if we turn to Him and are clothed in Christ.
