VerseD: Luke 23:38

There was also an inscription over him, “This is the King of the Jews.”
Luke 23:38, ESV

Our Lord was mocked, yet the mockers did not realize the truth they either stated or misunderstood.
Likewise, Christians receive the same treatment, but we know they are truly attacking and mocking Christ and still missing the truth of His redemptive work on that cross.

VerseD: Philippians 2:7-8

but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Philippians 2:7‭-‬8, ESV

Jesus is, always has been, and always will be God. Yet, He ignored the honor due Him to die for our forgiveness and redeem us from His wrath.
Likewise, through Christ we are adopted children of God, yet we serve our fellow humans to show them God’s grace.

VerseD: Luke 22:42

saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”
Luke 22:42, ESV

Jesus did not enjoy His greatest work, preferring another way. Yet, His obedience to the point of death on the cross is not only our joy but also our example of faithfulness to God and spreading the Gospel.

VerseD: Romans 5:8

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8, ESV

How wonderful is our God and Savior?
How much should we share God’s love for us by showing this world He sent His Son to die for us?

VerseD: John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
John 14:6, ESV

All roads do not lead to God. Different religions do not show different aspects of or paths to God.
Jesus is the only true way to eternal life.

VerseD: John 12:14-15

And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written, “Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt!”
John 12:14‭-‬15, ESV

DHe entered Jerusalem on a donkey, the King arriving to make His sacrifice.
When He returns, it will be on a white horse to remove His enemies.
We celebrate His coming and warn of His return!

VerseD: John 1:29

The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”
John 1:29, ESV

John the Baptist recognized Jesus as our sacrifice and Shepherd, our Lord and Friend.
Like John, w should proclaim the Son of God who has redeemed us from our sin, who has come and is coming again!

VerseD: Jeremiah 17:7

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord.”
Jeremiah 17:7, ESV

All of our hope, peace, and strength come from God. He has given us more than enough reason to trust Him, most notably by the cross of Christ.

VerseD: James 4:7

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:7, ESV

Temptations and troubles come, but turning to God gives us the power and peace to overcome.
