So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
Galatians 6:10, ESV
The cost of following Jesus is getting over ourselves, and we should therefore treat others the way Jesus treated us, with sacrificial love, especially within the Church.
I also have family in the North/South Carolina area, having heard of loss of power and cell signal for days (power still out for a lot of people), and gas stations out of gas. The town my brother-in-law was married in in Georgia had many trees uprooted/knocked over.
Thankfully, everyone I know is alright, but they can’t do a lot of cooking at home either due to power constraints or having had to empty their fridges, so they are utilizing the restaurants that have power to get food. Naturally, this is costing extra money.
Let us pray for a quick recovery, wisdom and peace for those affected, and communities to work together well.

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Pray for those affected by Hurricane Helene.
Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
1 Timothy 4:12, ESV
God takes care of us, especially as we seek Him and study His Word. He shows that He even cares about how we feel about what others think. As long as we remain in Chriat, His thoughts are all we need to care about. (But we will still care for others!)
“You also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
Luke 12:40, ESV
God takes care of us, most importantly by the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. The Church now prepares the world for His imminent return to judge the world.
Do we truly love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strengths? Maybe I can help with the mind part, at least! This is Daniel M. Klem, apparent poet, reluctant yet passionate Disciple (Peter?), and foolish man attempting to understand theology!
