VerseD: Matthew 16:24

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.
Matthew 16:24, NASB

Christianity is not a simple “Just believe, and all is good” faith. Jesus expects us to deny ourselves and look more like Him, to turn aside from sin and sacrificially love others.

VerseD: Matthew 11:15

He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
Matthew 11:15, NASB

God’s truth is difficult for our sinful minds to accept, but seeking His wisdom and righteousness and allowing the Holy Spirit to awaken our minds helps us understand.

VerseD: Lamentations 3:22-23

The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22‭-‬23, NASB

Life is tough.

Yet, we should focus on how He takes care of us and blesses us every day, especially His saving us from our sins.

VerseD: Romans 10:17

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
Romans 10:17, NASB

How can others come to faith in Christ unless we tell them?

The Father enjoys using His faithful children to spread the gospel of His Son.

VerseD: Psalm 130:5

I wait for the Lord , my soul does wait, And in His word do I hope.
Psalms 130:5, NASB

Our circumstances change. Our understanding of the world and people change.

But God and His word do not change. We trust in the God who reveals Himself in Scripture.

VerseD: Jeremiah 17:7

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord And whose trust is the Lord .
Jeremiah 17:7, NASB

God gives us stuff, sure, but the one who trusts God learns to be content in all circumstances and regardless of what is (or is not) received.

VerseD: James 1:5

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
James 1:5, NASB

One of the things God enjoys granting to people is wisdom. True wisdom leads to God and His righteousness as revealed in Christ.

VerseD: 1 John 5:14

This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
1 John 5:14, NASB

God may give us things we ask for out of selfish desire, but as we draw closer to Him we will find our desires matching up ever more with His. Then God will always grant us our requests, because we want the same thing.

VerseD: Isaiah 55:6-7

Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord , And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
Isaiah 55:6‭-‬7, NASB

Death is end of chances to seek God. He can be found during this life only. After death, He finds you, but not for salvation. Only His wrath remains.

Instead, turn to Him today, and forsake your selfish desires and thoughts to receive God’s compassion and grace.

VerseD: Matthew 5:6

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”
Matthew 5:6, NASB

The only way we shall truly find satisfaction in this life is by seeking the Lord and His righteousness with all our hearts, souls, and minds.
