Answered Prayers from Youth Camp

Firstly, thank you to all who prayed for our youth this past week (July 22-25). 5 churches were represented this week, about 140 students attending.

Here are some quick updates on this week:

Our 2 JH boys
  • One student confessed his pride struggles, and he showed the fruit over the next day we were at camp.
  • Several students committed to actively living their lives for serving Christ.
  • At least four students came forward to receive Christ!
  • James was praying someone would experience a miracle to help their faith grow deeper. He was born color blind (able to see black/white, grays, and brown (typically from red)). After about 30 minutes of praying for his fellow students, he opened his eyes to notice the stage lights looked different. This young man, praying someone else might experience a miracle, had his own! James is no longer color blind!
    • James is not from my congregation, but he was in my cabin. We did not get to bed until after 1:00 am, because he kept discovering new colors and shades
Immediately after the Wednesday night prayer time. James is surrounded by friends praising God.

It is always amazing to see the goodness of God. Please continue to pray for our new believers, students who had major breakthroughs, and for James and his new vision!

Love and grace,

Daniel

VerseD: 2 Corinthians 5:7

for we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7, ESV

We show our trust that God knows what He is doing by living in the hope of eternity, even during hard and difficult times, and sharing the Gospel of Hope and Peace with the world.

VerseD: 2 Corinthians 5:7

for we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7, ESV

We live in a corrupt, fallen world, full of people made in God’s image but with corrupt, fallen hearts and minds. They are inherently against Christ.

Therefore, we walk by faith knowing things will not get better until the new Earth, and people will be hostile and stupid even as we love them.

2 Corinthians 4:18

as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:18, ESV

It is easy to get focused on the things of this world, but we are to look to the Kingdom of God. It is mostly insubstantial until Christ returns. Trust His promises that His Kingdom is growing and that He is coming again.

VerseD: 2 Corinthians 5:7

for we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7 ESV

With all that we see is wrong in this world, it can be easy to lose hope.

But we walk in the faith that Christ has promised to return and take us to be with Him forever.

Guest Post: Open My Eyes to Jesus

A dear brother submitted his own thoughts today.

Enjoy as you seek Christ.

Daniel

15When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my LORD! What shall we do?” the servant asked.
16“Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
17And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, LORD, so that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

2 Kings 6:15-17

How many times in our life have we looked at situations that seem daunting and scary? I have fallen into the trap of not believing that our God has things under control.

I have fallen into the trap of not believing that our God has things under control.

I pray that God would open up our spiritual eyes and have Faith that God has it under His control. We may never see chariots of fire, but we can by faith see our tough circumstances in the light of God’s power.

Open my eyes, LORD. I want to see Jesus.
