In world focused on ignoring God and loving self, we gather together to encourage each other to love God and others sacrificially.

VerseD: Hebrews 13:16

Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

Our God came to us to share His love, grace, and Presence with us, making it possible by sacrificing Himself in our place for our sin and rebellion.

May we follow Christ in sacrificially doing good for others, bringing them into knowledge and deeper relationship with Him.

We are horrible on our own.

Jesus is good, as He is God.

Jesus came to set the example for us, Love well, die unjustly, and raise to life again – to save us from our horribleness.

Let us love sacrificially to show God’s goodness to others.

We tend toward selfishness, but God has given us the example of sacrificial love and servant-hood towards each other and (as well as for) God.

We don’t know everything, unlike God. Yet, we are called to love like Him: patiently, sacrificially, hopefully, and in truth but with grace and mercy.

And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.

Christ came to save us by taking the cross we deserved, but He asks us to take up our own cross – live like Jesus by sacrificing our wants, desires, comforts, freedoms, and even our lives in radical love for others to show them the love of God.

Let us love like our Lord who came to us, served us, died for us, and helps us even now.

Christ came for His Church. He commands we love His Church – each other – just as He does.

Sacrificially and even amidst pain.

We tend to expect a 50/50 input with relationships, each side giving and receiving equally. The example God gives for relationships is 100% – giving sacrificially expecting little or even nothing in return, yet always loving the other.

if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Like our Lord prayed the night He was betrayed, we should be praying for the lost of our world, the unity of the Church, an the strength to sacrifice of ourselves to continue His work in His name.
