VerseD: Amos 5:24

But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.
Amos 5:24, ESV

As Paul said, without love and mercy, spreading justice to those in need, especially the justice of God, we are only making more noise in the world.

Be a refreshing cup of water to someone, according to God’s love.

VerseD: Psalm 139:23-24

Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.
Psalm 139:23‭-‬24, NASB

Seek God, but know that He knows everything about you. He will reveal every sin and imperfection, but it is to help you trust and rely on Him as He makes you like Jesus.

VerseD: Luke 16:10

“He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much.”
Luke 16:10, NASB

How you live in the little, day-to-day humdrum of life can be evidence of your faithfulness toward great things.

If you want to do great things, be faithful in the ordinary.

VerseD: Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

If you lack any of these fruits, examine yourself and your salvation. All of these will spring forth as you pursue the righteousness of God and love others.

VerseD: Matthew 5:6

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”

The only way we shall truly find satisfaction in this life is by seeking the Lord and His righteousness with all our hearts, souls, and minds.

VerseD: Isaiah 26:9

My soul yearns for you in the night; my spirit within me earnestly seeks you. For when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
Isaiah 26:9 ESV

Do you yearn for and earnestly seek the Lord?

One of the reasons we see unpleasant things happen in this world is that He allows or even orchestrates them for our righteousness.

Case in point: Jesus was born to die on a cross.

VerseD: Proverbs 13:6

Righteousness guards him whose way is blameless, but sin overthrows the wicked.
Proverbs 13:6, ESV

Practically speaking, living rightly generally keeps you out of trouble.

Spiritually speaking, Christ’s righteousness saves us from the punishment we deserve and guards us from falling back into sin.

VerseD: Psalm 116:1

I love the Lord , because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy.
Psalm 116:1, ESV

God hears our prayers and wants to give us mercy.

We must also remember that He has said that He hears the prayers of those who love Him.

Seek God’ righteousness and His mercy.

VerseD: John 6:36

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.
John 6:35, ESV

We must be hungry for more of God and thirsty for His righteousness.

Christ is our means manna from heaven and water from the rock.

Seek Him and be satisfied.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
James 1:17, NKJV

James basically gave a commentary on Jesus’ sermon on the mount. He started with the reminder that God wants to give us good things, beginning with the wisdom to seek out and then share Him and His righteousness.
