VerseD: John 1:12

But to all who did receive him, he gave them the right to be children of God, to those who believe in his name

John 1:12, CSB

We find joy in the love of God who saves all those who believe in Jesus, God in the flesh who saved us from sin and separation from God by His death and resurrection.

VerseD: Acts 20:35

“In every way I’ve shown you that it is necessary to help the weak by laboring like this and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, because he said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Acts 20:35, CSB

It is not what we do that makes us righteous before God, but it’s faith in Christ’s death on the cross and His resurrection that brings us righteousness. We then should want to share that righteousness with others to bring them to faith, and any other ways we can give like our Lord has to us should be our desire.

VerseD: Mark 11:24

Therefore, I tell you, everything you pray and ask for — believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Mark 11:24, CSB

God is in control and cares for us, and He makes sure we have everything we need as we ask Him according to His will, and often more than we ask.

VerseD: Mark 11:24

Therefore I tell you, all the things you pray and ask for — believe that you have received them, and you will have them.

Mark 11:24, HCSB‬

We join the Church in worshipping Christ, so we must believe that He has saved us and given us every good thing. This brings joy and hope, and many in the world will want to join in worshipping, too.

VerseD: Acts 20:35

“In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Acts 20:35, ESV

Jesus is our God who gave us the example of giving without expectation (other than repenting and believing in [and showing we love Him by obeying] Him for the forgiveness of sins).

We find that true blessing of obedience when we love like Jesus.

VerseD: Acts 2:38

And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:38, ESV

When we repent and believe in Christ, we receive the Holy Spirit, and He helps us glorify Christ by loving others and sharing the good news of Christ.

VerseD: 1 John 5:14

And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.

1 John 5:14, ESV

We can know we are saved in Christ, and as we become more Christ-like, we want the same things as God. We will ask for the things He wants more and more, especially that which brings others to Him and bring ls Him glory.

VerseD: 2 Corinthians 9:6

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

2 Corinthians 9:6, ESV

This is not really about money. This is about love, forgiveness, and grace.

We give what we have received from God.

VerseD: Matthew 7:7

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”

Matthew 7:7, ESV

God wants to give us good things. Whenever we ask according to His will, we will receive. Sometimes He still gives, even when we don’t ask or don’t ask correctly.

He especially will give us when we ask for His glory, usually to share the Gospel.

VerseD: Matthew 7:8

For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

Matthew 7:8, ESV

God is first and foremost concerned with His glory and the salvation of our souls. Therefore, may not grant every request we make. He gives salvation, forgiveness, mercy, grace, and wisdom in abundance (and He does like to give us other things, as well.)
