VerseD: 1 Thessalonians 5:17

pray without ceasing
1 Thessalonians 5:17, ESV

This does not mean we are always on our knees, tucked away in a closet, eyes closed, or however we solemnly pray.
We must be in regular contact with God: reading the Bible, thinking about Him and His Word and Church, and, of course, talking with Him.

VerseD: Matthew 19:26

“But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

We are unable to save ourselves. To escape God’s eternal judgment and wrath, we need His salvation through Jesus Christ’s atonement.

VerseD: Psalm 130:5

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope

Fear and anxiety melt in the presence of God, who speaks to us today through the Bible and His Church.
Trust God and His Word.

VerseD: 1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

We often give in to our own desires, but God empowers us through His Holy Spirit to respond like the Son: to turn to the Father, quote the Word, and escape temptations snare.

“Yet even now,” declares the Lord , “return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning;”

To this day, we still rebel against God, and He still calls us to lament our sin and to repentance. He loves us and loves to forgive us when we turn to Him.

VerseD: Psalm 46:1-2

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea

Our God is always with us. The very same God who told us the tiniest faith could move those mountains we fear the moving of. (Matthew 17:20; 21:21)

VerseD: Proverbs 21:3

To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
Proverbs 21:3, ESV

We no longer need to offer animal sacrifices to God, but we must sacrifice our own rights and desires to God’s will to spread His righteousness and fight injustice in our world.

VerseD: Isaiah 41:10

fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10, ESV

Our Lord is greater than anything we face. We need not fear, for our strong and faithful God is with us.

VerseD: Psalm 56:3

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. Psalm 56:3, ESV

When we feel afraid, may we turn to the source of strength and peace: our loving Father God.

Video Lesson: Infinite to Infinitesimal Gospel

We should know the big picture.

It is extremely helpful to know the littlest parts: how things work and what needs to be understood.

How would you define infinity? What is it?

What is the opposite of infinity? Do you know?
(Hint: It is not negative infinity!)
[In other words, what is the limit of what we should know?]

What does the Bible say?

  1. Matthew 22:36-40
    1. L                               God.
    2. L                               people.
      1. The first 3.5 C are based on the first.
      2. The second 6.5 C are based on the second.
  2. 1 Corinthians 2:1-2
    1. The best way to love God is admit J is God who loved us enough to become a h and die for our sins.
    2. The best way to love people is tell them that God became a human to die for our sins!

There is obviously more detail on how we love God and others, but that is for another lesson!

So, love God and others by reading your Bible to know Him better and to share the full Gospel with everyone!
