VerseD: John 1:29

God created us for fellowship, but we sinned, rebelled against Him and each other. Yet He became one of us to restore that fellowship. May we recognize and point others to our Savior who takes away our sin and welcomes us to Himself.

VerseD: 1 Peter 3:18

For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God. He was put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit

God made us good and for fellowship, but we have all acted with evil intent that has separated us. Despite this, He came to us as one of us to take our evil on Himself to remove our evil and restore fellowship for all who believe.

VerseD: Ephesians 5:1-2

Therefore, be imitators of God, as dearly loved children, and walk in love, as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.

How can we not live others, when Christ have us the perfect example to follow by sacrificing Himself for our benefit? Let us sacrifice of our time, energy, resources, and even our lives for the sake of the gospel and the souls of others.

VerseD: 2 Corinthians 5:21

‭He made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

How can we keep on sinning when we know Christ took our sin upon Himself? May we grow in sinning less by loving Him and each other more.

VerseD: Romans 12:10

Love one another deeply as brothers and sisters. Take the lead in honoring one another.

How can we not love others knowing how much God loved us even when unforgiven and died for us? Let us set the example for others by following His example and loving sacrificially.

VerseD: 2 Corinthians 3:17

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

We tend to fall into habits and temptations that bind and control us, but God fills us when we believe in Christ, giving us freedom to serve Him and love others.

Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

Words are important. Words save. Words are meaningless if they are not backed by truth and action, just like The Word becoming flesh to live and die for us.

Go and do likewise.

VerseD: Lamentations 3:22-23

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

This world is cynical, untrusting, and faithless, but our God gives us His Holy Spirit to show and to help us live out everlasting love, mercy, grace, and faithfulness.

VerseD: Matthew 5:4

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”

As the saying goes, it’s okay to not be okay. In fact, we must realize our sinfulness and that we have wounded God. Not just wounded, but our sins held Jesus to the cross until He died.

When we mourn our sin and its destructive, killing power and offense to God, then we can find comfort and forgiveness in the resurrected Savior.

But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

God came as one of us to show what His love, grace, and faithfulness looks like – even to death on a cross for the forgiveness of sins.

Let us live faithfully in Christ’s faithfulness, following His example, to a fallen world.
