This Sunday at Church: Pray for any Church you know going through the Process of Having a New Elder

We added another elder this year, and we have seen the spiritual attacks. I know of a couple other churches that have grown and added elders, and they, too, have had interesting seasons.

Our Adversary hates unity and love, so may we pray for all churches, especially those sticking to biblical standards.

Daniel

This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Pray for any Church you know going through the Process of Having a New Elder.

VerseD: Psalm 27:4

One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.

Psalm 27:4, ESV

This world has many answers for happiness and truths, but the greatest truth and joy is found in God.

Pray that God reveals Himself to you in amazing ways, that you may spend time seeking His wisdom and beauty faithfully.

VerseD: Matthew 7:24

“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”

Matthew 7:24, ESV

We can try to live our own truth, live but the world’s wisdom, or try to please God on our own.

Or we can listen to and obey Jesus.

Pray to hear Jesus and for the strength and wisdom to obey.

VerseD: Psalm 3:3

But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.

Psalm 3:3, ESV

There are many things in this world that can harm us, whether persecution, illness, tragedy, or worries.

Let us pray to God who can save our souls and encourage our hearts and minds.

VerseD: 2 Corinthians 9:6

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

2 Corinthians 9:6, ESV

We want to give more. We want to be good stewards.

We must sow bountifully in prayer before we sow in generosity and love well.

VerseD: Psalm 34:4-5

I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.

Psalm 34:4‭-‬5, ESV

Let us remember to thank God for saving us and lifting us up. May others see a difference in us as we pursue Him in thankfulness.

VerseD: 1 Peter 4:8

Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.

1 Peter 4:8, ESV

Let us remember to thank God for His love, to ask Him to help us love more, and to share that love first with our brothers and sisters in Christ and with the lost.

This Sunday at Church: Praying with those joining the military

I almost signed up with the Marine Corps. I had/have several friends and family in all of the branches. I was instead blessed with praying for and helping support families and military members. They need all the prayers they can get!

Daniel

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Praying with those joining the military.   Last week Sunday we posted “Praying with those who are graduating and anxious with the future.” In the past I have posted a few posts about those in your church leaving off for college. I thought those who might be joining […]

Pray for the Youth River Trip 2022

Tomorrow and Wednesday, I am taking 13 youth (and a couple adults) on an overnight kayaking trip. Our focus this summer is “Getting Away”, remembering to pray and rest in God.

Please join me in praying for these youth (and those who can’t go this time!) that they will get a taste of God and His strength, that we have fun and relax, but mostly that we find greater faith and strength in Christ.

Daniel

VerseD: Matthew 6:7-8

“And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”
Matthew 6:7‭-‬8, ESV

God does not need long prayers, but He does enjoy speaking with us. We can ask over and over, but He does know our hearts and requests as well as what we need.
He wants our devotion and to give us what we need.
