VerseD: Matthew 5:5

“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”

Matthew 5:5, ESV

When we can admit that we can’t get through this life in our own power, that only in Christ can we fully thrive, then we find that we can be co-heirs with Him, living eternally on a restored Earth in glorified bodies like His, worshipping and truly living.

VerseD: Matthew 5:4

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”

Matthew 5:4, ESV

As the saying goes, it’s okay to not be okay. In fact, we must realize our sinfulness and that we have wounded God. Not just wounded, but our sins held Jesus to the cross until He died.

When we mourn our sin and its destructive, killing power and offense to God, then we can find comfort and forgiveness in the resurrected Savior.

Our fear darkens our outlook on life and connection with God, and when we can admit our need for help, He puts His light in us and shows us hope and grace.

VerseD: Romans 8:11

If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

Romans 8:11, ESV

Our God came and died for us, and He raised Himself to life again for our justification and hope.

That same God fills us as a promise of that hope and that we may spread the hope of our Redeemer.

VerseD: Romans 15:4

For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

We try to find the good in things and make life better, but God has shown us in the Bible that our only hope is in Christ, and He is helping us through this life and into the next.

VerseD: Psalm 27:14

Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!

Psalm 27:14, ESV

When the world around us is overwhelming, take the time to seek and wait on God. He will strengthen and encourage you, and remind you of te hope of eternity we have in Christ.

VerseD: 2 Corinthians 7:10

For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.

2 Corinthians 7:10, ESV

The world can leave us feeling guilty and hopeless, but when we feel rightly guilty, it leads us to the Forgiver of our souls who calls us to change our thinking and actions, giving us a clean conscience and hope for eternity.

VerseD: Matthew 6:21

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 6:21, ESV

Holding onto the things of this world may bring some temporary happiness, but mostly it leaves us feeling empty and alone.

Seeking Christ in all things brings joy and hope for eternity.

VerseD: Psalm 42:11

Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.

Psalm 42:11, ESV

Life in this world can get overwhelming and depressing.

Our God has given us hope for the future through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Seek Him to find joy.

VerseD: Isaiah 43:2

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.

Isaiah 43:2, ESV

God literally did these things for His People throughout history, yet, through the Holy Spirit, we know that God’s Son has saved us from the fires of damnation and chaotic sea of humanity. When this life seems un-navigable, He grants us peace and grace.
