This Sunday at Church: Thanking God for working audio equipment

Having worked in A/V at churches, it is such a thankful thing when the audio works well. More goes wrong than most people realize.

Be thankful for any chirch gathering that flows well!

Daniel

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Thanking God for working audio equipment.

This Sunday: Praying for the health of the older deacons in your church

Most of our deacons are retirement age, and one only left the military for disability while still of working age. All deacons need prayer, but especially as the get older and face more and more health concerns.

Daniel

This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Praying for the health of the older deacons in your church.

VerseD: 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up as you are already doing.

1 Thessalonians 5:11, CSB

The gospel includes encouragement in the Spirit, and we encourage each other in Christ to continue seeking God and proclaim the gospel to others.

This Sunday at Church: Pray for the church’s members affected by US Government Shutdown

Our congregation has a few people affected by the shutdown. We help them every time this happens, but there are many people who do not have this help. Let us pray for and be prepared to help many.

This Sunday at Church: Pray for members in your church who are looking for employment

It is harder to get a job at this moment. I even saw an article Saturday (Nov. 1) about “ghost jobs,” posted job opportunities that do not actually exist within a company but are used to either scare current employees into working better or to inspire investors.

Add into this the number of people with little or no experience, and many jobs are more often requiring experience. It can make job hunting intimidating.

Let us pray for all those job searching, including Jimmy’s friend.

VerseD: Philippians 4:8

Finally brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just,  whatever is pure,  whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable — if there is any moral excellence  and if there is anything praiseworthy — dwell on these things.

Philippians 4:8, CSB

We are in a spiritual war, and focusing on all the good things in this life that God has done and is doing, that we do together in the Church, directly combats the evil forces we struggle against.

VerseD: John 14:6

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

John 14:6, CSB

We love the Church, for this is where Christ dwells by the Holy Spirit, and we share the Truth as the only Way to eternal Life as a collective Body for His glory.

VerseD: Matthew 9:37-38

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.”

Matthew 9:37-38, CSB

We love the Church, for we are sent out by God to reach people for Christ as the Body of Christ, encouraging each other to rely on Hod who is already working in the harvest.

VerseD: Luke 6:35

“But love your enemies, do what is good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High. For he is gracious to the ungrateful and evil.”

Luke 6:35, CSB

We love the Church, knowing Christ’s love was extended through the Church to us when we were enemies of Christ, and now we seek to welcome others into the Church and Christ’s love and grace.
