Where Was God? Where Are You?

My second reblog today. The first, confronting a misunderstanding of Scripture and what it teaches. This one, confronting a misunderstanding of God’s versus our own culpability and responsibility.

VerseD: Matthew 11:15

He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
Matthew 11:15, ESV

Do you listen to Christ and His followers, or do you listen to what sounds best to you?

Do you seek the truth found in the Bible or, like Thomas Jefferson, pick your favorite parts only?

VerseD: Lamentations 3:22-23

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22‭-‬23, ESV

We know that God is faithful in love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness, because the cross of Christ proved His faithfulness.

VerseD: Romans 10:17

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Romans 10:17, ESV

Faith in Christ primarily comes from the preaching of the Gospel from the Scriptures.

Know the Gospel. Believe it. Share it with others that they may be saved.

VerseD: Psalm 130:5

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope;
Psalm 130:5, ESV

VerseD: Jeremiah 17:7

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord.
Jeremiah 17:7, ESV

Trusting the Lord brings the blessings of forgiveness, grace, a changed heart and mind, inner peace, and eternal life in Christ.

VerseD: James 1:5

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
James 1:5 ESV

God desires that we each turn to Him for true wisdom, which is His righteousness in Christ.

Turn to Him today, and receive God’s wisdom.

VerseD: 2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
2 Peter 3:9, ESV

We only have this one life to choose Christ. God wants a populated eternity, not empty. He gives us this one time to turn to Him, so be grateful He has waited for you.
