VerseD: John 15:13

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

John 15:13, ESV

God Himself called us friends and died for us.

May we turn to this lost and fallen world to show them our Friend who loves so much.

Pray for the Youth River Trip 2022

Tomorrow and Wednesday, I am taking 13 youth (and a couple adults) on an overnight kayaking trip. Our focus this summer is “Getting Away”, remembering to pray and rest in God.

Please join me in praying for these youth (and those who can’t go this time!) that they will get a taste of God and His strength, that we have fun and relax, but mostly that we find greater faith and strength in Christ.

VerseD: Psalm 20:7

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

Psalm 20:7, ESV

No army can stand against God. Even when He died for us, it was a battle move to save us. We can put our faith in Him.

This Sunday at Church: Praying with those who are graduating and anxious with the future

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Praying with those who are graduating and anxious with the future.   In the past I wrote a similar post along the lines of encouraging those who are graduating from schools. But given everything with the direction of the economy, job prospects, overall education in the United […]

VerseD: Matthew 5:3

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 5:3, ESV

We see our weakness before God, our utter sinfulness, and it should push us to seek His grace and mercy and find hope in Christ.

VerseD: John 20:21

Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”

John 20:21, ESV

As Jesus was sent by the Father to save the world, we are sent to spread that good news to the world. The world can then see the peace we have in a crazy, messed up, fallen world and want that peace.

VerseD: John 14:1

“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.”

John 14:1, ESV

God came to us. The Father sent His Son, Jesus, the promised seed that would crush Satan and redeem us from sin and wrath.

Trust in our God who saves, and the world will want the peace we have in Him.

VerseD: Matthew 18:3-5

and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me”

Matthew 18:3‭-‬5, ESV

Just as our Lord condescended to reach us, we must have the faith of a child in their parents in His work, and we must share the truth of Christ with the whole world.

VerseD: Colossians 4:6

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

Colossians 4:6, ESV

As we were once enemies of God, we remember that others are not in their right mind when apart from Christ. May we show them and each other the grace we received from our God and those older in the faith.

VerseD: James 4:7

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

James 4:7, ESV

God is our defender, having crushed Satan’s head through the cross.

Let us draw closely to God, submitting to His sovereignty and might, and He will drive the Devil away.
