VerseD: Matthew 6:19

God’s commands are based on His nature and our good, and the best thing for us is to seek God and His ways. When we are His, we have hope and eternal security.

VerseD: Psalm 107:13-14

Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and burst their bonds apart.

God’s commandments are based on His nature and for our good, shining the light of His goodness into our world. We obey to show our love for the freedom He gives us and to spread His light in our dark world.

VerseD: Proverbs 23:24

The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him.

God gives commands according to His nature and our good. He makes us righteous when we believe in His only Son, the Wisdom of God who guides us.

VerseD: Lamentations 3:25-26

The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

Our ultimate rest is found in Christ. When we dwell on the salvation He offers and the hope of eternity after His return, our minds and souls find rest in the midst of chaos.

VerseD: Mark 6:31-32

And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat. And they went away in the boat to a desolate place by themselves.

God calls us to take times for rest. It started in Creation Week, and it continues now. Obey the God of peaceand find time for rest.

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

We find rest and peace in Christ, and we offer the same to each other by helping each other through this life.

VerseD: Isaiah 26:4

Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.

We can rest our minds and hearts knowing God is beyond this world yet intimately involved, so we can trust that He has all things in control and will come redeem us for eternity.

‭“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”

Our souls and minds find rest in Christ, but only when our faith is in Him and we obey His words.

And he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.”

We were created to be the glory of God, and He created a time of rest for us. We ultimately find that rest in Christ, the full glory of God who dwells in those of us who believe.

In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Our sovereign God is the source of all peace, and, when we are found in Christ, we can know that He is in control and watching over us at every moment
