VerseD: Matthew 20:28

“just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Matthew 20:28, CSB

Christ is our example of love, and He demonstrated this by sacrificially serving others, even and especially those who don’t deserve it.

VerseD: Acts 4:12

“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Acts 4:12, ESV

We can strive to be good on our own, but it takes the Son of Man who died for our sins to find eternal life.

VerseD: Philippians 2:8

And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Philippians 2:8, ESV

God became a man to do what we never could: be perfectly obedient and offer the perfect sacrifice to atone for our sin and rebellion.

VerseD: 1 John 4:15

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
1 John 4:15, ESV

If confess and believe that Jesus is the Son of God, God incarnate – God in the flesh, fully God and fully man – and that He lived a perfect life to die as our atonement on the cross and then rise back to life …

… you are saved. God dwells in you through the Holy Spirit to the glory of the Father.

Second week in a row with a fresh poem! I wrote this yesterday while driving across the USA to see family and friends … or, more chronologically, friends and family.

It is shorter, but it rhymes and is a quick reminder of who Christ is.

Son of …

Son of God, from up above,
You are worthy of praise and love.
Son of David, from his bloodline,
You are Lord and King divine.
Son of Man, from Adam’s seed,
You are our example and greatest need!
