VerseD: Matthew 5:6

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”
Matthew 5:6, NASB

The only way we shall truly find satisfaction in this life is by seeking the Lord and His righteousness with all our hearts, souls, and minds.

VerseD: Psalm 119:105

Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
Psalms 119:105, NASB

Scripture reveals how we should live our lives: our sinfulness, need for a Savior, how to love God and others, and to bring glory to God in all things. It guides and instructs us by the wisdom of the Holy Spirit.

VerseD: James 4:8

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
James 4:8, NASB

When we submit to God, we are drawn closer to Him, and we continue drawing near to Him through prayer, reading Scripture, meeting with other Christians, and serving others.

And we will see our character change in the process.

VerseD: Jeremiah 29:13

You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:13, NASB

When life gets hard and uncertain, look for God, how He is moving and acting in every situation. He is there. You will find Him if you search in earnest.

VerseD: Proverbs 16:3

Commit your works to the Lord And your plans will be established.
Proverbs 16:3, NASB

God is not a magic genie that will grant our wishes.

Rather, we should be so desirous of the Lord that our plans are essentially His. How can we fail of our will is matched to His?

VerseD: Psalm 90:12

So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom.
Psalm 90:12, NASB

While I have used this to justify birthdays, the greater meaning is that we should remember our lives are short, but we should remember how much God does for us in our lives.

VerseD: Proverbs 16:9

The mind of man plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.
Proverbs 16:9, NASB

We make plans and set our own expectations, but we truly follow God’s ultimate plan according to His perfect expectations, fulfilled in Christ.

VerseD: 2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
2 Corinthians 5:17, ESV

In Christ, you start over. “Born again” means your soul is cleaned and renewed, and God is changing the way you think, feel, and act.

You are no longer the old you. Walk in the new.

Happy New Year 2019!

2018, amiright?

Another full year has come and gone.

My wife and I moved from ever sunny, ever hot Phoenix to a cooler (and currently snowier!) climate.

There were many new Adventures. Some are still growing.

I started a youth group for a small local church. I am getting ready to (hopefully sooner than later, at this point) to launch a mobile coffee cart! (Look for “Bean Adventurer Coffee”!) I am writing A LOT! (Though this blog took a small hit. But …)

Jesse finally started contributing here, though YouTube has not received an update this year. Moving and lacking access to editing software hurt that. But hopefully more is coming soon!

In all things, God is good. All the time.

May you receive an abundance of bunches of blessings this year. And though life may take some effort to trudge through, fall on the promises of God, this year and always.

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

Numbers 6:24‭-‬26 ESV

In His Love,

Daniel

VerseD: 1 John 4:15

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
1 John 4:15, ESV

If confess and believe that Jesus is the Son of God, God incarnate – God in the flesh, fully God and fully man – and that He lived a perfect life to die as our atonement on the cross and then rise back to life …

… you are saved. God dwells in you through the Holy Spirit to the glory of the Father.
