VerseD: John 3:16

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
JOHN 3:16, NASB

God is so much about relationship with us that He did what no other deity has offered: He became human, and then He died for our rebellion.

It sounds foolish to the world, that God He did this and rose from the dead, but believing this is what saves.

VerseD: 2 Chronicles 7:14

and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
2 CHRONICLES 7:14, NASB

God desires to save us and have relationship with us.

He made a way through Christ. Turn from your sin, and seek His face.

VerseD: 2 Corinthians 10:5

We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ
2 CORINTHIANS 10:5, NASB

We not only let God change our thinking, we challenge what this world says about Him.

He is God. He is on our side. The world’s seemingly “good” arguments are nonsense compared to His Truth.

VerseD: Psalm 19:14

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord , my rock and my Redeemer.
PSALM 19:14, NASB

Not only what we say matters, but what we think. We must let God change our minds – our way of thinking – if we want to be pleasing to Him.

VerseD: Joel 2:12

“Yet even now,” declares the Lord , “Return to Me with all your heart, And with fasting, weeping and mourning;
Joel 2:12 NASB

God is offended by our sin and pride, and we should be, too. He calls to change – our thinking and actions – and seek Him. By the power Jesus’ sacrifice and through the working of the Holy Spirit, He helps us and redeems us.

VerseD: Revelation 3:20

Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.
Revelation 3:20, NASB

The Lord seeks relationship with us, but He calls us to repent and allow Him to change our lives to be passionate against sin and for Him.

VerseD: Matthew 18:20

“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
Matthew 18:20, ESV

The context is church discipline, calling out sin in hopes of repentance from a wayward brother or sister.

Is that not also why we share the gospel?

VerseD: Matthew 16:24

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.
Matthew 16:24, NASB

Christianity is not a simple “Just believe, and all is good” faith. Jesus expects us to deny ourselves and look more like Him, to turn aside from sin and sacrificially love others.

VerseD: Isaiah 55:6-7

Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord , And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
Isaiah 55:6‭-‬7, NASB

Death is end of chances to seek God. He can be found during this life only. After death, He finds you, but not for salvation. Only His wrath remains.

Instead, turn to Him today, and forsake your selfish desires and thoughts to receive God’s compassion and grace.

VerseD: James 4:8

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
James 4:8, NASB

When we submit to God, we are drawn closer to Him, and we continue drawing near to Him through prayer, reading Scripture, meeting with other Christians, and serving others.

And we will see our character change in the process.
