Pray for the Youth River Trip 2022

Tomorrow and Wednesday, I am taking 13 youth (and a couple adults) on an overnight kayaking trip. Our focus this summer is “Getting Away”, remembering to pray and rest in God.

Please join me in praying for these youth (and those who can’t go this time!) that they will get a taste of God and His strength, that we have fun and relax, but mostly that we find greater faith and strength in Christ.

Daniel

VerseD: Romans 8:26

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

Romans 8:26, ESV

This world and it’s problems and attacks can overwhelm is, but we have an Advocate and Helper who helps us pray and persevere, to have answers against the attacks and hope in any problem.

VerseD: 1 John 5:14

And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.

1 John 5:14, ESV

We can know we are saved in Christ, and as we become more Christ-like, we want the same things as God. We will ask for the things He wants more and more, especially that which brings others to Him and bring ls Him glory.

VerseD: Psalm 27:4

One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.

Psalm 27:4, ESV

We must realize that only by God’s grace can we inherit eternal life. May we seek His face and grace, meeting regularly with fellow believers as we study His Word and pray unceasingly.

VerseD: 1 Peter 3:12

“For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

1 Peter 3:12, ESV

God is ever-present in our lives, but He pulls away from evil. Let us stay within His presence by seeking Him and His righteousness.

VerseD: Colossians 4:2

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.

Colossians 4:2, ESV

Prayer keeps us connected to God and each other. Thankfulness helps us appreciate our salvation and communion with God and the Church.

VerseD: Romans 12:12

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

Romans 12:12, ESV

Life may not go as we have planned, so we remember to seek God in prayer, trust Him in times of trouble and persecution, and live in the hope of Christ’s imminent return.

VerseD: Philippians 4:6

do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Philippians 4:6, ESV

It is okay to be concerned about things, but our concern should not become worry and anxiety. Rather, we should talk to God (pray and ask), thankfully remembering that He proved His power and faithfulness through the cross.

VerseD: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:16‭-‬18, ESV

We keep our focus on God, being thankful for all He has done, and our lives will show the difference.

VerseD: Philippians 4:6

do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Philippians 4:6, ESV

Our God and Creator wants to help us. Let us be grateful that in Christ we can trust Him and ask for all our needs, knowing He cares for us.
