VerseD: 1 Chronicles 16:34

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!

1 Chronicles 16:34, ESV

God is good all the time, and He always loves.

Let us give thanks that He lavishes His love and goodness on us through the cross and His Holy Spirit.

A “Golden” Anniversary

Normally, I have a new picture of my wife and me from the past 48 hours before this post.

2009 – Ireland

Unfortunately, my wonderful wife of 13 years today has had to deal with an old man, as I threw out my back this last week and spent most of the time in bed or my recliner.

While I am quickly on the mend (relatively speaking), my wonderful wife has had to take care of me quite a bit. She has done well covering some of the “for worse” and usually having a smile.

Therefore, as June 13 comes along with our 13th anniversary, it feels a little like I prematurely entered my golden years. πŸ™ƒ

Fortunately, we have made it 13 years, mostly having fun, relying on God, and loving each other.

I am so grateful for the gift God has given me in Mrs. Klem. She sometimes claims I am the better half, but I can attest (on my completely unbiased blog) that she is the better half.

Thank you for joining me on this journey, my love, and I pray the next 13 years are as good together (or better) as the first 13, Lord willing and unless Christ returns!

VerseD: Romans 12:10

Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.

Romans 12:10, ESV

This life can be tough, so let us encourage each other in the love of Christ by loving each other in words and service to God’s glory.

VerseD: Acts 2:38

And Peter said to them, β€œRepent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:38, ESV

When we repent and believe in Christ, we receive the Holy Spirit, and He helps us glorify Christ by loving others and sharing the good news of Christ.

VerseD: Acts 1:8

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 1:8, ESV

Our purpose in life is to bring glory to God, and He has given us His Spirit to share the news of His love and grace to the whole world.

VerseD: Galatians 5:14

For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: β€œYou shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Galatians 5:14, ESV

We love God best when we love each other.

Let the love of God move through you.

VerseD: Colossians 3:12

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience

Colossians 3:12, ESV

God humbled Himself (condescended to us), becoming weak in His kind patience with us because of His compassionate love to save us.

Let us do likewise, as we remember that we were just like the world, and carry that God news so that they, too, may come to know His kindness.

VerseD: Micah 6:8

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Micah 6:8, ESV

This world is unkind and unmerciful enough. Let us be like our Lord who show us kindness and mercy first by dying on a cross for us.

VerseD: Proverb 18:21

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.

Proverb 18:21, ESV

God spoke to create us.

The Word came to save us.

Let us choose to share the words of life with the world rather than to bite and hurt each other with our words.

VerseD: 1 Corinthians 13:7

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

1 Corinthians 13:7, ESV

Love is a choice and a lifestyle, and it should be unconditional in application even though it may be conditional in allowance.

Love helps to grow, but it cannot be forced from another.
