VerseD: Psalm 8:3-4

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?

God has said He will be with us, the Creator of the universe who can hold it all in His hand, wishes to live with us by the indwelling of His Spirit.

VerseD: Romans 12:1

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

Romans 12:1, ESV

God has said He will be with us, and we invite this relationship when we repent of our sins and love as He has called us. Wonderfully, He is in us helping us along the way.

For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

God has said He will be with us, and this should encourage and empower us to obey His commands even when pressured by the world and even friends and family to live for ourselves or to make others happy before God.

God has said He will be with us, which He does by the Holy Spirit, who points us to Christ and makes us more like Him every day.

God has said He will be with us, which He does by the Holy Spirit who empowers us with His love, grace, and gospel.

VerseD: Psalm 139:13-14

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

We are saved in Christ alone, and as God He knows us beyond intimately, better than we know ourselves. He is our Creator and Savior and worthy of all love and praise.

And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”

God wants to change this world for His glory and our good. He calls us to go in His name.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

The cost of following Christ is dying to self everyday, but the rewards are eternal life and the Spirit guiding and moving through us in amazing ways that bless others as well.

The cost of following Jesus is admitting we need help this world cannot offer and to love in ways we do not understand. We need to get over ourselves and have Christ in us to make us pure and good.

Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.

Proverbs 4:23, ESV

The cost of following Jesus is not pursuing every desire but only what good and Holy. It is seeking God and His will above all and sharing His truth with others: life in Christ.
