VerseD: John 15:13

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

The Father sent the Son to show Hisblove by dying for our forgiveness and restoration. They sent the Holy Spirit to empower us to love others the same way.

VerseD: Titus 2:11-12

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age

We like to do what we want.

God calls us to live for others, seeking His righteousness and loving others like Jesus, turning from our selfish ways to Spirit-led life.

VerseD: Psalm 24:1

The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein

We like to think we are our own, but everything belongs to God. If we want to be our own master, He will give us what we want, but it is infinitely better to be part of His redeemed.

VerseD: John 11:25-26

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

Many people look for ways to prolong life and avoid death, but it is only by believing in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection that we find eternal life.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

All truth must be filtered through Christ. This especially means the spiritual. We are only granted eternal life through believing in, obeying, and trusting Christ.

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.

John 6:35, ESV

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,” said Jesus. He satisfies us spiritually foremost, yet He meets all our needs.

We like to think we are dedicating things to God, but are we merely bringing our own will into our walk?

Let us first dedicate our lives to God and the rest will follow.

We like to think we are basically good or can earn a place in heaven, but it is only by faith in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus that we get there.

“and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

John 8:32, ESV

We know we are horrible, and this truth hurts, but the truth that God came to us to redeem us and restore us frees us to move past mistakes, sins, and horribleness and into life, love, and grace.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

Out God is sovereign, as shown in His power over death and life, so may we seek and honor Him in all we say and do.
