God has called each of us, especially in the Church, to offer help to each other and hope through the Gospel.
But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’””
Matthew 4:4, ESV
It is said that people need food, safety, and shelter to thrive, but without hope no one can live.
The Word of God tells us we constantly fall short, but by the grace shown through Christ we can be made righteous and have hope of eternal life.
“Yet even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning”
Joel 2:12, ESV
We must lament our sin, desire the change in our hearts and minds, and seek the only One who can cleanse us and give us peace within and with Him.
“For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.”
Jeremiah 31:25, ESV
In Christ, God gives us rest from our worries and stress from sin, and He promises us that all suffering will one day end when Christ returns.
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

Life may not go as we have planned, so we remember to seek God in prayer, trust Him in times of trouble and persecution, and live in the hope of Christ’s imminent return.
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

In Christ, we have a God who understands our temptations, and He offers the help of His Holy Spirit and the Scriptures to escape and overcome.
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

No matter what a day may bring, God is in control and holding all things together. Including us. We can trust Him.
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1, ESV
Faith is supposed based on what we know, and God has proved His faithfulness time and again to let us know He is real, He has saved us through the cross, and He is coming again for the restoration of all things.
Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

God wants us to rely on Him, that we could do more than we know. Growing stronger in Christ conforms us ever more to His likeness, and our hope and love grows.

Trusting in Christ leads to being filled the Holy Spirit who flows through us to offer refreshing peace and love to a lost and hurting world.
