VerseD: John 6:35

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”

John 6:35, ESV

The hope of Christ is that the long-awaited Messiah has come, and He alone satisfies our souls and longings. One day He will return and remove all longings, pains, and worries.

VerseD: Matthew 4:4

But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Matthew 4:4, ESV

God can do anything, and He saves and sustains us by the power of His Word. He provides for all of our needs as we seek Him, most importantly our redemption and restored relationship with Him.

VerseD: Psalm 105:39-40

He spread a cloud as a covering
and gave a fire to light up the night.
They asked, and he brought quail
and satisfied them with bread from heaven.

Psalm 105:39-40, CSB

God is faithful, and He demonstrated this by freeing Israel from slavery and then providing protection, guidance, and food while they followed. Likewise, His faithfulness is ultimately found in Christ who provided our salvation from sin and provides all we need through daily life and the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

VerseD: 1 Corinthians 10:31

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 10:31, ESV

Even our simple choices in life should be dedicated to God, with concern for those around us but always to glorify God.

VerseD: Matthew 6:11

Give us this day our daily bread,
Matthew 6:11, ESV

God is our source of all that we need. He cares for us and provides for us, most importantly through the Bread of Life, Jesus.
Seek Him first, and all our deepest needs are met.

VerseD: 1 Corinthians 6:19

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,
1 Corinthians 6:19, ESV

We should take care of our bodies with exercise and being careful of what we put inside (food, drinks, and otherwise), but Paul reminds us specifically to beware interwe watch, who we interact with, and if we are obeying God’s Word on sexuality and sensuality.

Remember, God the Holy Spirit dwells in us!

‘Give us this day our daily bread.’

All we have and receive comes from God.

Ask Him.

Trust Him.

He is our Provider.
