God is with us by His Spirit, empowering us to live in contentment in any circumstance with power and grace to grow the kingdom and resist temptation.
“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?”
Matthew 6:25, ESV
Our desires should not be for the things of this world but the goodness and glory of God. When others see us at peace in a crazy world and content with what we have, they will desire that contentment and peace. They will want the God we carry.
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
Romans 12:12, ESV
We have so much to be thankful for, and we were promised this life would be hard, especially for Christians in this fallen world.
Be in constant conversation with our Lord, to thank Him and rely on Him.
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Whether work, school, chores, driving, teaching, preaching, vacationing, relaxing, reading, writing, giving or following directions, sitting quietly, running a marathon, going to the hospital (for good or ill), or whatever …

God gives us stuff, sure, but the one who trusts God learns to be content in all circumstances and regardless of what is (or is not) received.
