fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10, ESV
Our Lord is greater than anything we face. We need not fear, for our strong and faithful God is with us.
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33, ESV
There are many things that can scare us or give us anxiety in this world, yet we can remember that our Lord has warned us they would come, He went through worse, and He is with us until He returns to remove all those things for ever.
“‘And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.'” Acts 2:21, ESV
Calling on the name of the Lord is not merely praying or saying you understand or want something. It is realizing you have been wrong and that Christ is the only way to be made right with God, believing He died for your sins, and trusting that He has indeed saved you and brought you into a saving, loving relationship.
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1, ESV
We will continue to sin until we leave this life, but Christ’s atoning sacrifice cleanses us of all sin – past, present, and future – when we put our faith in His sacrificial work.
Do we truly love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strengths? Maybe I can help with the mind part, at least! This is Daniel M. Klem, apparent poet, reluctant yet passionate Disciple (Peter?), and foolish man attempting to understand theology!
