VerseD: Ezekiel 36:26

And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
Ezekiel 36:26, ESV

We do not change our hearts to be good. God changes us and makes us new and good by His Holy Spirit. We join His work.

VerseD: 1 Thessalonians 5:17

pray without ceasing
1 Thessalonians 5:17, ESV

This does not mean we are always on our knees, tucked away in a closet, eyes closed, or however we solemnly pray.
We must be in regular contact with God: reading the Bible, thinking about Him and His Word and Church, and, of course, talking with Him.

VerseD: Matthew 19:26

“But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Matthew 19:26, ESV

We are unable to save ourselves. To escape God’s eternal judgment and wrath, we need His salvation through Jesus Christ’s atonement.

VerseD: Psalm 130:5

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope
Psalm 130:5, ESV

Fear and anxiety melt in the presence of God, who speaks to us today through the Bible and His Church.
Trust God and His Word.

VerseD: Deuteronomy 6:4

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.”
Deuteronomy 6:4, ESV

Wholly holy, wholly righteous, and wholly loving.
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are wholly one God who calls us to Himself.

VerseD: John 16:33

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33, ESV

There are many things that can scare us or give us anxiety in this world, yet we can remember that our Lord has warned us they would come, He went through worse, and He is with us until He returns to remove all those things for ever.

VerseD: Psalm 46:11

The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah
Psalm 46:11, ESV

We can rest our minds and hearts knowing Emmanuel, our mighty King and refuge, is with us and has saved us.

VerseD: Acts 2:21

“‘And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.'”
Acts 2:21, ESV

Calling on the name of the Lord is not merely praying or saying you understand or want something.
It is realizing you have been wrong and that Christ is the only way to be made right with God, believing He died for your sins, and trusting that He has indeed saved you and brought you into a saving, loving relationship.

VerseD: Acts 4:12

“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Acts 4:12, ESV

It cannot be said enough:
Jesus Christ is our only hope, for this life and to attain eternal life by freedom from our sin of rebellion against God.

VerseD: Psalm 24:1-2

The earth is the Lord ‘s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.
Psalm 24:1‭-‬2, ESV

God created everything, even our home of Earth. He provides all we need, yet we must remember that we are His.
God needs nothing, but we need Him.
